CAE Method Standardization Project:
SAKAI’s Cement-Asphalt Emulsion Stabilization (CAE) Officially Approved by Indonesia’s Binamarga
On October 18, 2024, SAKAI’s Cement-Asphalt Emulsion Stabilization Method (CAE Method) received official approval from Indonesia’s Binamarga through the " SDGs Business Validation Survey for Utilizing of Japanese Cement and asphalt emulsion stabilizer method in Indonesia". This marks a significant milestone for SAKAI, as the CAE Method is now recognized as a promising solution for environmentally friendly road construction in Indonesia.
The CAE Method has been enhancing road durability in Japan since the 1980s by improving the flexibility and rigidity of road bases, significantly extending pavement lifespans. This innovative technology has now been adapted to address Indonesia’s infrastructure needs.
Since 2022, SAKAI has collaborated with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) under the " SDGs Business Supporting Survey" program. This partnership has involved promotional activities, market feasibility studies, and practical demonstrations to establish the CAE Method’s effectiveness. The project included rigorous indoor testing, field demonstrations, and the information gathering of standardization applications, culminating in its official approval.
As of October 2024, our efforts have been officially recognized and approved by Binamarga, marking a huge achievement for SAKAI in expanding the stabilizer CAE Method’s global reach. We look forward to further advancing our partnership with JICA and local stakeholders to promote sustainable, efficient road maintenance solutions across Indonesia.
