Exhibit at The 4th ASEAN-Japan Smart City Network High-Level Meeting
On 5th December 2022, The 4th ASEAN-Japan Smart City Network High-Level Meeting hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism was held in Aizuwakamatsu City, Naraha Town in Fukushima Prefecture, Japan to promote cooperation between Japan-ASEAN smart cities development. About 50 representatives of ASCN cities, the ASEAN secretariat, and Japanese municipal/local officials and companies, attended this event. Since its initiation in 2019, SAKAI has been participating in this annual international meeting, and actively contributing to Japan-ASEAN smart cities development.
In this year's conference, SAKAI showcased; Autonomous Roller, Compaction Meister, Guardman (emergency braking system) and Stabilizer Construction Method. Additionally, SAKAI had an exhibition booth where we focused on SAKAI stabilizer and its innovative road construction method.
The exhibition booth drew the attention of guests from ASEAN countries such as the Philippines, Laos, and Cambodia. These guests were surprised to learn that SAKAI delivered stabilizers through ODA and other means to the Philippines and Cambodia in the past. They indicated their strong expectations of future road infrastructure development cooperation in their country.
Smart cities, digitally integrated urban cities, promote safe, comfortable, and sustainable lifestyles through the use of technologies advanced in the Fourth Industrial Revolution such as AI, IoT and big data. In this aspect, SAKAI brought together emergency braking system to prevent accidents at construction sites (Guardman), Autonomous roller, and Compaction Meister which provides accurate data in real-time to help operators achieve uniform compaction.
It is SAKAI's belief that strong road infrastructures providing basic inter-city networks within ASEAN countries are essential for the development of smart cities. We have confidence that our stabilizer construction method is fundamental to the enhancement of networks within smart cities. We will continue to work with MLIT (Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism) in contributing to the construction of smart cities and further development in ASEAN countries.
